Nick Höppner, Auntie Flo plus Warm residents
For this session we are delighted to welcome back Ostgut Ton label boss Nick Hoppner. After his fantastic sets over the last eighteen months he has firmly become one of our favourite DJ’s around and after the previous Room 2 session we just had to invite him back.
As co-founder of Ostgut Ton Nick has probably spent more time in Berghain and Panorama Bar than most, and his DJ sets and productions reflect the vast wealth of inspired music that fills the famed club every weekend. To immerse one’s self within Nick’s typically extended DJ sets rewards similar multi-faceted discoveries. Always telling a tale, weaving an exciting path across his chosen musical spectrum – whether its a tough, raw and energetic house-party set, a dramatic big-room techno adventure, or anything in between – Nick’s mature, confident approach and depth of character sets him apart from his contemporaries behind the decks.
Be it through his monthly residencies at Berghain/Panoramabar and Watergate, his solo releases for Ostgut Ton, his expansive DJ touring, his acclaimed co-production and live performances alongside Lee Jones as MyMy, or indeed his creative involvement and management of the Ostgut label since its inception, Nick Hoppner stands out as a unique, long-serving and truly dedicated figure in today’s electronic music world. Sensitive to the history, emotions, stories and situations that derive from this music, for Nick the scope and eclecticism available within the 4/4 rhythm allows him great freedom to express his tastes and musical instincts.
For this very special session we also welcome a very special guest and another favourite of ours at Warm HQ – Auntie Flo. After his recent releases on H+P, a killer RA podcast and a split release with Nick Hoppner himself who better to join the party.
With support from the Warm residents come along and beat those January blues!
