Tonight the Tresor new faces challenge finds a very, very distinguished guest on the decks: the esteemed, legendary house DJ and Tresor label artist Juan Atkins. The virtual founder of the techno sound, so much about him has been said that it is almost useless to waste pages on his accomplishments. Suffice it to say that Mr. Atkins is a dear friend of our family, a true pioneer of the genre who holds the decks in the palm of his hand – respect. For the new faces new blood artists: P.E.A.R.L. behind the decks: Santander 1985. The work of this artist is characterized by broken rhythms and deep sounds, showing industrial influences. Following British trends in his productions, this Cantabrian man is one of the better known young values in the spanish peninsula and in 2012 P.E.A.R.L. moved to Berlin. Frieder Blume found a coherent foundation in a rough, hypnotic and gritty sound. Coming along with the process of discovering the most genuine way of expression he more and more focused on analogue gear. Third up on the decks: having a passion for electronic Music for so many years now, Mareena is working on adding some Gems into her Record Collection. When she’s not playing in Basement Clubs or at illegal Events your catch Mareena diggin’ for some Jams. Look out for a Dubbed out Techno set that will get ya movin’. On the downstairs Popklo floor Miss Italia will shake your money maker whether you like it or not.
