James Blake announces new album ‘Overgrown’

I’ve had my ears perked since hearing the news that James Blake’s sophomore album is getting ready to be released- Zane Low premiered it’s first single, “Retrograde”, on his BBC Radio 1 show a few days ago which we’ve posted below along with a live version of the album title track, “Overgrown”. This departure from his earlier dubstep releases on R&S records and Hemlock, towards his first full length release, self titled, “James Blake”- which brought this young, london bloke into the mainstream consciousness, is all a part of the James Blake evolution of sound. I’m proud to say I’ve been following this artist since his first releases (before the rest of the world took notice)… I remember back in 2010 I got a hold of this Diplo compilation and was immediately struck by track 12 and began researching more about this artist, James Blake. From there a love affair began and I have been following his music ever since, having seen him perform live twice with insane bass bumping sounds that made my nostrils vibrate. His voice, his musicality and taste for hard hitting beats have swept me off my feet and I’m looking forward to our next rendezvous on April 8th when his latest release will be dropped via Republic.

James also recently announced a tour which begins in the city of New York on March 9th at Terminal 5.

Tickets for that show are still available.
