This past week the launch of Echospace (Detroit) archival editions released their first special edition series focusing on rare and significant works of Deepchord. The out of print selection of music from Deepchord has been remastered and made available on a triple LP set which also includes photography by the artist himself, a 12″ X 12′ print emphasizing his creative vision. The process of putting together this release consisted of restoring old analog tape, DAT and cassette recordings, some dating back to 1994. These sounds are considered some of the most important and influential tracks to emerge from Detroit over the past 15 years, creating a map utilized by many artists as guidance towards the evolution of underground techno. Imagine taking a swim along the ocean floor with a rich analog landscape made only in the streets of the Motor City.
