Alejandro was born in Viña del Mar, Chile. Growing up with a father who was a tenor saxophonist and owner of a large collection of jazz records, music has always played an important role in in Alejandro’s Life. Since a child he’s spent a large amount of time in front of the speakers, leading up into his teens, when he began playing guitar in several rock bands influenced by indie music of the time, such as Sonic youth, The Jesus & Mary Chain and the Pixies. In 1993, he and his friends formed a cult band in the underground scene of Valparaiso called, Small particles. Three years later, in 1996, inspired by the Detroit techno scene and Acid House style, Alejandro began to experiment with sounds generated by machines, taking on the name Telepong for his first solo project. He was a big part of the emerging Chilean electronic scene of South America and it did not take long from there to gain widespread recognition bringing him to play at clubs such as Panorama Bar, The End, Circoloco, Rex club and many more. Stay tuned for his latest release off Melisma Records that will be out soon.
