After Murat Tepeli, Daniel Wang and Jacob Korn were invited into the Moodclub dj-booth by curator Rick Shiver, the time has come to introduce you to the two selectors that will take the city on a journey of raw, gritty house this autumn.

If you are old enough to remember cassette tapes, then chances are big that you remember the time when a guy called Gratts became the very first Moodclub resident. For years, the Leuven born co-directed the Moodclub nights alongside Pierre De La Rivière. Together, they invited djs like Luke Solomon, Manuel Tur, Jon Cutler and Kenny Hawkes (RIP) to venues all over town as well as launching the Moodclub Music digital imprint.

For the next two editions of Moodclub, we are welcoming Gratts back to his hometown. But not by himself, as he is bringing along his 22tracks partner Kong. Together, Kong & Gratts curate the house music on Belgian platform 22tracks, as well as hosting the ensemble nights in Brussels, dedicated to togetherness and deep, timeless house music. Thus far ensemble has brought the talents of Xosar, moomin, Fred P, San Soda, Young Marco and Oracy to a selection of venues in the Belgian capital. This summer also saw the first ensemble event in Berlin with good people like Johannes Albert and the Aroma Pitch crew on the decks at About Blank. The very first limited ensemble vinyl will follow this autumn, with an ensemble of artists they love featured.

For the occasion, Kong & Gratts present you a lineup that ranges from underground disco to raw Chicago house and back via Detroit techno. The pair are very proud to announce Chicago native Amir Alexander (Vanguard Sound – US) behind the decks, as well as close friends Ferdi Blankena & Sense Unique, Holland’s best kept secrets.

As it goes, Moodclub founder Pierre de la Rivière will complete the lineup. And if that wasn’t enough, for old time’s sake: yes, it’s Pierre and Gratts’ birthday bash!
