For our first party of 2013 we invite Hessle Audio‘s co-founder Ben UFO to spin and Swedish techno experimentalists Frak will perform their debut UK live show. In support on the night is meandyou’s Andrew Lyster.
A lot has been said about the absence of Ben UFO’s production output, instead focusing on his raw talents as a dj, making him somewhat of a rare breed in today’s climate. Ben has crafted a reputation as one of the UK’s finest new selectors, playing a diverse range of genres from house, techno and UK bass influenced sounds, sewing them together seamlessly. 2013 see’s the release of his Fabriclive mix cd, which features meandyou resident Juniper’s ‘Jovian Planet’. We’re excited to announce that Ben will be making his debut for us.
Swedish techno experimentalists Frak play their UK debut live performance, using only analog equipment, green lab jackets and metallic headwear. The trio have been releasing their left-field leaning techno music together since 1987, with a majority of their productions on their own Börft Records imprint. The underground veterans have recently gained the attention of a new generation by releasing a limited edition white label trilogy on Kontra Musik. Other recent releases include an EP on Sex Tags Mania, Digitalis and a mini-lp on Börft label. Expect lo-fi sounds, no lap tops and lots of tin-foil.
Support on the night comes from one of meandyou’s co-founders, Andrew Lyster. Lyster holds down the meandyou NTS monthly radio show, one of which featuring L.I.E.S’s Ron Morelli, was recently included in Little White Earbud’s top 10 downloads of 2012.
