Although often associated with the motor city, any attempt to define Daniel Bell’s musical styling by geography is a difficult task. Born in California, growing up in Toronto and then New York, Bell gradually made his mark in Detroit before settling in Berlin for the last decade.
First appearing under the Cybersonik guise on Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva’s Plus 8 records in the early 90s, Bell soon created his own distribution platforms in Accelerate and 7th City, releasing the seminal “Losing Control” on the former in 1994.
Under aliases DBX, KB Project, Drum-Adi-X and Gazoo, the rest of the 90s and early 00s has seen Bell release a string of highly-lauded releases and compilations on wide-ranging labels such as Elevate, Peacefrog, Klang Elektronik, Logistic and Tresor.
