The native-born Romanian showed us how meteoric your rise in the world of electronic music can turn out to be if you’re equipped with the right amount of talent, passion and charisma and above all manage to be spotted at the right moment by the right people, e.g. DJ giants like Sven Väth or Ricardo Villalobos. In 2003, Raresh had already played in various clubs in his native city Bacau, but he was eventually drawn to Bukarest, the heart of the Romanian club scene, where he entered his first booking agency, Sunrise. He soon got a full summer residency for all the Sunrise events at the Black Sea Coast and he shared decks with famous colleagues like Richie Hawtin, Tobi Neumann, Josh Wink, Steve Bug, Pascal Feos, Troy Pierce, Magda, Marc Houle or Pier Bucci.
He had his first date in Frankfurt in 2005, when he was invited to play at the 190 East with Toni Rios, Chris Wood and Frank Lorber. Back home, the young DJ became part of one of the most important moments in the Romanian club scene: The Sound Of The Sixth Season World Tour 2006, where he played back to back with Chris Tietjen the warm-up for Sven Väth. In march 2006, another “most wanted” artist stopped for a memorable party in Bucharest: Ricardo Villalobos.
He was so impressed by Raresh that he played back to back with him at the after-party and then carried the reputation of Romania’s amazing young talent into the world. The aftermath was not long in coming: soon after, Raresh switched to the Cocoon booking agency and entered the world of internationally sought-after Djs. It’s easy to detect his lively, amiable personality in his music – Raresh is a rhythmic whirlwind with a surprisingly eclectic choice of music and impressive technical skills.
