DJ Rolando is considered by many as a true veteran within the techno scene, the American whose releases on Underground Resistance in the late nineties have gone on to inspire so many and still fill the sets of DJ’s right across the world today. His roots coming from Latin America, Rolando was inspired by the Latin American drum rhythms that he grew up around and these have very much gone on to shape his later musical output. It is a great honour to have Rolando over to play here at Half Baked for us.
Romanian Xandru is up next. A former hip-hop DJ he later found a new love for electronic music which soon saw him snapped up by the Sunrise family, home to the much loved [a:rpia:r] amongst many other talented DJ’s and producers. A track included in Rhadoo’s recent Fabric mix indicates just where this young talent is in terms of his production skills and having played alongside DJ’s such as Zip, Rhadoo, Sammy Dee, Dyed Soundorom and many more on stages at festivals such as Sunwaves right through to small infamous venues such as Club der Visionaere in Berlin you can be certain that Xandru has the talent to tear up any party and we know he will do just that at Half Baked.
Half Baked resident Greg Brockmann has been going from strength to strength in recent years and following the recent announcement of his first EP alongside Tolga Fidan it seems Greg has no plans to stop anytime soon. A fantastic producer as you will all hear soon enough and a DJ who can adapt to surroundings no matter when or where he is playing, we’re extremely proud of this one.
To round off the line up we have a cheeky young lad who grew up in Liverpool and is now living, working and studying in London. Sam Bangura makes his first appearance at Half Baked following recent sets around London.
